For all appointments contact us on 3395 8577 during opening hours or use one the apps HotDoc or Health Engine.
So that we can provide you with the quality of care you deserve we ask that patients make appointments. If you require more immediate attention please contact us as we always have time set aside each day to accommodate emergencies.
Every endeavour will be made in the interests of continuity of care to book you in with your regular doctor and to accommodate your preferred appointment time.
If you require some extra time please ask our staff for a longer consultation particularly if it is for a medical assessment in which case you may also need to be booked in with our nurses.
MFMC does offer telehealth (telephone) consultations for our regular and current patients if it clinically safe and appropriate to do so. Please be aware that your Doctor may ask you to attend in person if deemed necessary . Please discuss this with our reception team who will be able to assist you with this booking.
If you or a family member require an interpreter service we can organise this for you also. Please let us know when you make the appointment.
MISSED APPOINTMENT/ SHORT NOTICE CANCELLATION POLICY
APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION:
When you book your appointment, you are holding a space on our calendar that is no longer available to our other patients who are on a waiting list hoping to see their Doctor on that date. In order to be respectful of your fellow patients, please call 3395 8577 as soon as you know you will not be able to make your appointment.
If cancellation is necessary, we require that you call at least 2 hours in advance. We have a cancellation list where we try and offer appointments to those patients in need if someone is unable to attend as our appointments are in high demand. Therefore your advanced notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.
HOW TO CANCEL AN APPOINTMENT:
If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us on 3395 8577 between the hours of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday; 8.30am to 1pm Saturdays .
If you have made your appointment via our online booking system, HotDoc or Health Engine, you must cancel your appointment using the Booking app and by selecting Cancel or No in the appointment reminder message you received.
LATE CANCELLATIONS/NO SHOWS:
A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 2 hours before the appointed time. A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without cancelling. In either case, we will elect to NOT bulk bill you the NEXT VISIT which means you will incur an $80 fee with the applicable Medicare rebate at the time being provided, after which you will be bulk billed again.
CONSIDERATIONS:
We know your time is valuable, and ours is too. Out of respect for our Doctors and our other patients, we ask that you give us at least 2 hours notice if you need to cancel an appointment.
EMERGENCIES WILL ALWAYS BE GIVEN PRIORITY
Getting the Result of Any Test or Procedure
Your doctor will advise when they expect the results to arrive at the practice. So that we may provide you with the best possible care for the continued promotion of your health needs please make an appointment with your regular doctor to obtain any results. If the result if of an urgent nature we will contact you to make a follow up appointment with your doctor. If any of your contact details have changed since your last visit, please ensure you advise our reception team.
Certificates
Medical certificates ae legal documents and are only issued on the day of examination and cannot be back dated. If instead you require a certificate as to whether you are capable of performing specific or suitable duties or not at work or to a third party a fee of $85 will apply in this instance. If uncertain please contact our reception to discuss further.
Drugs of Dependance
Drugs of dependence (including Endone, Oxycotin, Morphine, Codeine, Benzodiazepines, Valium etc) will not be prescribed by our Doctors at your first appointment without appropriate assessment. Our Doctors will adopt safer and better options .
Reminder System
Our practice is committed to preventative health services. We may issue you with a reminder letter from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care (eg. cervical screening (pap smears), immunisations, health assessments).
If you do not wish to be part of this system, please let us know at reception.
Bulk-Billing and Consultation Fees
Morningside Family Medical Centre is both a bulk billing and private billing practice.
We bulk bill all patients (new and existing) as long as you have a current Medicare card, the visit is a Medicare related STANDARD 10 minute consultation (one main/straight forward health issue) and you ask for a bulk billing doctor between the hours of 8.30am to 4.50pm Monday to Friday and Saturdays from 8.30am – 12.30pm. A standard consultation is ten(10) minutes only which allows for one(1) main health issue.
If you have MULTIPLE health issues to address this would require a longer appointment for which a fee will apply and the appropriate Medicare rebate will provided. A longer appointment will NOT be bulk billed – eg. Mental Health Care Plans. If you require any type of paperwork to be completed or anything that requires the use of the treatment room facilities or consumables again a consultation fee will apply. For example; ear syringing, cryotherapy, dressings, procedures, travel injections etc. These will NOT be bulk billed.

SATURDAYS after 1PM ALL PATIENTS A FEE OF $120 APPLIES – $53.90 REBATE FROM MEDICARE.
Dr Nemetallah PRIVATELY BILLS only.
